LearnDash Pricing Explained: Plugin vs Cloud vs Add-Ons

Ever since LearnDash was purchased by LiquidWeb/StellarWP in September of 2021, LearnDash pricing has become more complex. You used to just have a single price for the LearnDash plugin license per year. All official LearnDash add-ons were included for free, except for ProPanel, which was included on the second and third highest plans.

Now the LearnDash pricing page has many options, and it’s not immediately clear what you’re paying for. We’re here to make it easy:

  • How much does LearnDash cost?
  • What plans are available with LearnDash?
  • Which LearnDash add-ons are included in your license?
  • How is LearnDash Cloud different from the LearnDash plugin?
  • …and many more of your LearnDash pricing questions, answered.

How to Add Links to the LearnDash Focus Mode Dropdown Menu

If you’re using LearnDash’s focus mode, you’ve probably noticed the dropdown menu that appears when you hover over your name/avatar in the top corner. By default, LearnDash dynamically adds “Course Home” and “Logout” links.

Design Upgrade Pro for LearnDash is Now Compatible with BuddyBoss! 🎉

April 20, 2022: Compatible with BuddyBoss 🎉
As of April 20, 2022, our Design Upgrade Pro for LearnDash plugin is now compatible with the BuddyBoss theme.

Feel free to read on if you’d like to know how Design Upgrade Pro for LearnDash versions 2.18 and below worked with BuddyBoss. But if you’re using BuddyBoss and would like to use our plugin, we highly recommend you update to version 2.19 or later for the best experience.

TLDR: Some people use Design Upgrade Pro for LearnDash with BuddyBoss successfully. It can be done, but it depends on a) if you’re using BuddyBoss platform, BuddyBoss theme, or both, and b) which LearnDash elements you use, and c) which Design Upgrade options you’re using.

In most cases, it’s the theme that isn’t compatible. If you’re just using the platform plugin, most (if not all) of Design Upgrade Pro for LearnDash’s features will work as expected.

LearnDash Focus Mode: Only Show the Current Lesson in Navigation

Someone recently asked if they could hide all the lessons in the LearnDash Focus Mode navigation, and show only the current lesson. I never thought anyone would want this type of set up, but apparently, some find it useful.

I was able to write some CSS to achieve it, but there is one small caveat.

LearnDash Focus Mode: Sticky Header on Mobile

This will be a quick article with the custom CSS to make the LearnDash Focus Mode header fixed on mobile. This means the header will be fixed to the top of the screen as the user scrolls.

LearnDash uses a fixed header for Focus Mode on larger screens, but they disable it on mobile. Here’s how to get it back. We’ll also address tablets.

Remove Scrollbar When LearnDash Focus Mode Sidebar is Collapsed

In LearnDash, when you collapse the the Focus Mode sidebar navigation, you might still see the vertical scrollbar. This is partly because of the CSS that LearnDash uses for this section, but also partly the responsibility of the browser you’re using, and the settings you have set for your browser.

Regardless, there’s a way to always hide that scrollbar in the LearnDash Focus Mode sidebar when it is collapsed. Here’s the simple CSS to make that happen.

Avatar & Name in a Pill in the LearnDash Focus Mode Header

Phew! That title is a mouthful, huh? Here’s a quick image that illustrates what we’re talking about:

We’re just applying some custom CSS to place the student’s name & avatar in a contained area with a background color (we’re calling it a pill). We’ll discuss the CSS needed to create this affect, and go over a few variations so you can customize it to your liking.
